ICG Commerce Expands Reach Of Services Procurement Offering
Procurement Services Provider Extends Professional Services Advantage Program into Canada
PHILADELPHIA - Tuesday, May 13, 2003 - ICG Commerce, a leading Procurement Services Provider, today announced
the expansion of its Professional Services Advantage (PSA) program, which optimizes and automates all activities involved
with sourcing, managing and paying for services such as contracting, consulting and recruitment, into Canada. The move
follows the completion of several successful PSA engagements on behalf of customers in the U.S.
"Each year, North American corporations procure over $1.5 trillion in services via phone, fax and e-mail," said David
Clary, senior vice president of Delivery and Operations for ICG Commerce. "Despite the high dollar amount spent,
studies indicate that 41 percent of all services purchased are not controlled by the purchasing department, suggesting
that few companies have developed standardized processes and strategies for acquiring and managing services. In fact,
most purchasing of services is so decentralized that few companies have visibility of the dollars spent for services, let
alone the ability to track and manage individual services."
The ICG Commerce PSA program provides a unified solution for multiple categories of services spend, including
contracting, consulting, marketing and recruitment for Information Technology, Admin/Clerical, Finance &
Accounting, Engineering, Bank & Brokerage and Light Industrial areas. Through the program, ICG Commerce
provides deep expertise as well as support applications that are designed to be deployed independently or can be
seamlessly integrated to existing ERP or hard goods supply chain systems, offering businesses a cohesive approach to
their eProcurement initiatives.
In addition to the pricing, process and visibility gains being made by buying organizations, the supplier community has
found the ICG Commerce PSA program to be a useful solution for serving their needs as well. Ajilon Consulting, one
of the world's largest IT services companies, believes the program is one of the easiest to work with among the variety
of services procurement solutions being utilized in the marketplace today.
"As part of the changing IT staffing landscape, a number of clients have recently adopted vendor management
solutions," said Brian Keyes, Ajilon senior vice president. "Ajilon Consulting has had the opportunity to evaluate and
to work through the implementation of a number of these solutions. Based on this experience, we believe that the ICG
Commerce Professional Services Advantage is an easy-to-grasp solution for all parties. The ICG Commerce solution
has allowed us to solidify our relationships with our clients while, at the same time, provide them with the quality
candidates they require."
The Canadian expansion of ICG Commerce's PSA Program will be managed out of the company's Toronto office.
